LYKIA TOUR
1.DAY : FLIGHT TO ANTALYA AIRPORT
After you arrive at Antalya Airport,you will be welcomed by our French spoken guide.Later we will drive
towards our hotel nearby Antalya/Kemer.
2.DAY : KEMER – MYRA – DEMRE – KAŞ – FETHİYE/DALAMAN.
After the breakfast we will drive along the coast towards Demre which is the birth place of Holly
Nicholaus.The ancient city Myra(nowadays Demre) was one of the leading cities of Lycians. In 60 A.C,
Apostel Paulus changed his ship on the way to Rome. When Theodosius the 2nd decided to make Myra
as capital city of the Lycians in 4th century A.C, Holly Nicholaus has been the Bishop of this city. After the
lunch we will drive towards Kaş which is famous with its Mediterrean Architecture. After a tour at the
fishing port with various photo breaks,we will drive towards Fethiye.Overnight nearby Fethiye/Dalaman.
3.DAY : FETHIYE / DALAMAN – DALYAN – DENİZLİ
Today as first we will driver towards Dalyan.Here we will get in our boat and see some monumental
Rock Tombs of Kaunos.The boat trip continues towards Iztuzu Beach which is a popular photo place. In
addition to the protected Carretta-Tortoises,the lesser-known Nile-Tortoises(Trionyx Tringulus) also live
in the Dalyan canals.We will have our lunch at the riverside.Later we will drive towards Denizli.
Overnight in Pamukkale.
4.DAY : DENİZLİ – PAMUKKALE
After the breakfast you can enjoy the white travertines of Pamukkale.Pamukkale and Hierapolis(the
ancient city of Pamukkale) was famous with its hot water springs in the old times.This place was also an
important spa place with its thermal baths and spring water which created the calcareous white terraces
of Pamukkale below the city.This water was used to dye wool,weaving and textile trade of the city.The
city was destroyed by the earthquakes in 17th century A.C,but was rebuilt again in an expanded form.
Thermal baths,fountains,theater and temple were built in the first and second centuries.The numerous
sarcophages and tombs in the Necropolis area also belong to this period. All buildings survived during
the wars between the Turks and Byzantines until they were completely destroyed by an earthquake in
1334. The church father Papias of Hierapolis was a bishop here in the second century and mentions that
he personally knew the daughters of the apostle Philip, who is said to have spent the last years of his life
in Hierapolis. The ancient Roman spa is very well preserved.You will have opportunity to enjoy and swim
in this ancient Thermal bath. Overnight in a thermal hotel in Pamukkale.
5.DAY : PAMUKKALE – ANTALYA
Today we will drive through the Taurus Mountains.Here we will visit a carpet weaving atelier where you
can see the traditional handmade carpets and you have opportunity to buy carpet.Later we will drive
towards Antalya.Overnight nearby Antalya.
6.DAY : ANTALYA
Today you will see Antalya city. We will visit the old harbour and Hadrian’s Gate.Later we will visit the
public bazaar and jewellery and leather ateliers with buying opportunity. Here you will learn interesting
facts about the productions and have the chance to buy a personal holiday souvenir.Later we will visit
the waterfal of Antalya.Later we will drive towards our hotel.Overnight nearby Antalya.
7.DAY : ANTALYA
Today there is an option to join an excursion to the archaeological ancient city Perge and the best-
preserved ancient theatre in Aspendos (optional, bookable and payable locally).
8.DAY : RETURN
Transfer to the airport of Antalya and fly back.
